matlab-support-dev software package provides helpers for packages building MATLAB toolboxes, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install matlab-support-dev
matlab-support-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the matlab-support-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep matlab-support-dev *
You will get with matlab-support-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
